The Catholic Church at the Gold Mine

Close
not found

The smallest church in Egypt was built by Italians in 1916 who were working on extracting phosphate ore in the Red Sea mountains at the beginning of the last century, in order to establish their religious rites in it because the other churches are away from their location.

The church is located within the boundaries of the gold mine in the Fawakhir Valley on the Quseir Road.

The total area of the church reaches 25 meters, 5 meters wide and 5 meters long, and its roof is gradually erected, due to its lack of rain impact.
